Thinking Outside of the Garment Bag- Last Day of Summer Part 2

On the way back we stopped by my parents for dinner. Dylan and my dad are playing checkers. It is something they really enjoy doing together. It was so beautiful I had to post it.

Very different from earlier in the day, but same principle. A little about life, a little about love, a little about family, a little about fun.

PS You have to check out Daniel's post about ties...come on don't be square. Click on the photo and hit the books.

Thinking Outside of the Garment Bag- Last Day of Summer Part 1

Do you remember the last day of summer before 4th grade?
On my son's last day of summer we took him ATV riding in the sand dunes of Pismo Beach. . . .

I borrowed a 450cc quad, Sal rode his 425cc bike and we rented Dylan a 125cc. It was on! Sal had the idea on Saturday afternoon.... the next day we were on our way. Needless to say we were all amped.

We grabbed some coffee and headed north to the sand at about 6:30 am this morning.

I love my pants. How hot would those look with some heals, black silk top and a furry jacket....HMMMM....Naw.... much better with a coffee stained hoody and combat boots don't ya think??

Sal took this photo. I love this photo because we were waiting for him to say "smile". The other photos are too posed. Dylan was in heaven. There were so many big trucks, bikes, trailers, flags, dune buggys, hummers a big huge playground for all of us.

This trip was not only for a fun family get away. It was to make awesome memories for Dylan to look back on. I did not take the camera on the dunes, although I wish I had because it was so beautiful. These shots will evoke memories of all of us concurring fear of big sand pits and hills, laughing, yelling, getting stuck, and riding together. Sometimes memories are better than any picture.

At about 4pm we were hungry, sandy, cold, thirsty, our thumbs were numb and we were completely happy. We were totally in the moment. It was truly a rad day for all of us.

I wonder if Dylan will write about this tomorrow when the teacher asks "what did you do this summer?"

I Heart Da Nang

Da Nang has some of the Raddest clothes. Blue Bee has carried this line for as long as I can remember.

Washable silk, tunics, camo pants, tee's. My favorite part is how they SMELL.

AND they come wrapped in these rubber bands that I always wear on my wrist.

Street Peeps - State & Carrillo BOGO

I love both of these girls outfits. Especially the girl in boots.

Full Metal Jacket

The Jacket is from 7 For all Mankind- $495.

We just got this Sequin Jacket on Wednesday at the Blue Bee warehouse.

It is from 7 For all Mankind...they are designing some awesome pieces to go with their jeans.

It won't be online for a week or so but it is SO TOTALLY OFF THE HOOK RAD I had to share it with you......WE ONLY HAVE 2 smalls. It needs a GOOD HOME where the owner LOVES IT and WEARS IT and TAKES CARE OF IT.

the new scarf was super rad too, Diesel always has awesome affordable scarves.

I don't work for Commission- I work for Fashion. If you LOVE LOVE LOVE the jacket you can totally email me at cristi@bluebee.com , my boss at customercare@bluebee.com or call 866.258.3233. We work M-F from 9-5 baby. Fall is ON FIRE!

Oh no you didn't

These are my favorate Earnest Sewn WHITE jeans :)

We have a ton of super rad white jeans at blue bee.

Summer is closing to an end and I ask.... Will everyone Stop Wearing White? Why do I feel this weird guilt for even wearing white NEAR labor day? I did some research on the matter and I came up with the following conclusions:

1. Before the 1950's it was a big deal to not wear white after Labor Day.

2. It was a movement to educate the Nouveau Rich "Middle Class" that was developing.

3. White makes you "cooler" in Winter.

4. Your clothes and especially nice white shoes/heals get dirtier in the winter months.

With these Fact's in Mind....I am not a Middle Class woman living in the 1950's, I have a love for layering(takes care of the cold part) and frankly revel in the occasional coffee stain on my white clothes and believe it gives a bit of character to my wardrobe.

I'm wearing White after Labor Day...ALL White! Watch me!

Would you?
