Nice Collective- Composer's of Gritty Style

Co-founders Joe Haller, left, and Ian Hannula celebrate backstage after the Nice Collective Fall 2009 & Gen Art show at Angel Orensanz Foundation, 172 Norfolk Street, on February 17, 2009 in New York City.

Nice Collective is one of my Favorite lines of Men's wear. With no formal training, these humble geniuses have unearthed a huge following from all walks of life.

Joe was a New York medical biologist by day and a composer(if you will) of dance music and party's by night. A few states over, Ian studied combat photography for the Marine Corps. Alas, Ian had his own dance composition brewing in Georgia where he studied.

As fate would have it Joe and Ian met in 1995 in San Fransisco and together fused a music, club and clothing company Nice Collective. While their passion for Music is still as vivid today as ever, their clothing line began to become a louder force in their collaboration.

Personally I see Ian's military background is very prevalent in the heart of the style and look of every collection. I wonder what his photographs look like now? Do you see the possible influence of Joe's amazing thought process, inventiveness, and primal edge that tweaks each season to be ever so different?

They are composers of a gritty style you can chew on.....
