In Honor of KB

Kevin Brown on a winter ascent of Electric Ladyland, Washington Column, Yosemite.
Taken by friend and fellow climber Kevin Steele.

for Laurie and the Littles.

"The climber contiues until the top

Ominous avalanches do not stop

The man from dominating the mountain

Once the summit has been reached, a fountain

Bubbling over with eternal glee

Getting down is easier, one can ski

Gracefully, in classic telemark style

Taking in the alpine scenes all the while

With crampons attached and ice ax in hand

He carefully surveys the distant land. "

Jason Feldt 1995

May their be the raddest mountains to climb

and the most beautiful sunsets for you to see!!

I have this silly fear of heights, but I admire others who mountain climb. I think its a remarkable sport. :)

What a stunning photo. I take it the photographer was climbing when he took this? Which would make it all the more amazing!
