RE COLLECTION - GREEN is HOT

Photo's from Re Collection Spring 10 Lookbook: Photographer- Felicity Byrne, Stylist - Shley Glorioso, Model: Aleks, Hair and Makeup- Pircilla Pae.

Re Collection's designer PJ Faulstick was rad enough to answer some questions I had about him personally and his totally off the hook rad Label.....are you ready to Get Green??

1. What is your favorite piece of clothing right now?

For winter I am obsessed with lightweight jersey t-shirts in neutral shades layered with chunky oversized grampa cardigans.

2. What are you most passionate about in life, what drives you?

I think what drives me the most is being creative and inspired by interesting people, art and music. I know this sounds cliche but in all honesty these experiences are what gives me so many new ideas to design into, and explore.

3. What do you have in your closet that you love SO much but have no where to wear it to?

I would have to say my black suede trench coat that I found din Germany. Such and amazing piece to throw on but far too serious to wear for S. Cali winter. I think I'll save it for another trip to Paris someday.

4. What is the most important thing you fight for in regards to your label?

I think that the most important thing that I fight for with RE COLLECTION is making sure that even though all of my materials are vintage that the actual garment comes across as being new in some way. I like having a suspension of disbelief when people find out that the line is made from recycled clothing most people ask "whats recycled?" and they are usually surprised to find out that almost all of every garment is made from at least 50% recycled materials.

5. I see fashion as a powerful artform, what's a rad fact you would be willing to disclose about you process as an artist?

With RE COLLECTION I see myself more as a stylist than a designer. I see my artistic role as a mirror of what is happening in fashion and the world at large more so than as an artist. I think that the art form of fashion comes with the small personal detailing in the garments such as a beautiful cut or fit. It's these details that you notice when you wear a piece of clothing and it becomes yours.

Thanks Dude!!! You are RAD!

PJ picked out the music "When I Grow Up" - by Fever Ray

I found a rad tricked out version - hope he won't mind :)

So turn up your volume, turn down the lights, rock out, get hot and get green!
